In November 2025 we shipped a complete visual redesign of AZ Web Tools — the first major interface overhaul since the platform launched.
The previous design had accumulated technical debt and inconsistencies as tools were added rapidly. Navigation was confusing for new users, and tool discovery depended too heavily on users knowing what they were looking for.
The new design introduces a reorganised category structure, a fast global search bar that filters tools as you type, and a cleaner card-based layout. The colour system was updated to use CSS variables throughout, making future theme changes trivial.
We also audited and removed 12 tools that were either broken or duplicating existing tools, and added 42 new tools in the same release — bringing the total to over 510.
The first-load bundle was reduced by 18% through code-splitting improvements, contributing to the PageSpeed improvement documented in the May 2026 entry.
