On June 1, 2025, AZ Web Tools launched publicly.
The idea had been in development for several months — we wanted to build a fast, ad-friendly, sign-up-free alternative to the scattered collection of small utility sites that developers and creators use daily.
The initial launch shipped with 480 tools covering JSON formatting, Base64 encoding/decoding, UUID generation, colour conversion, unit converters, SEO tools, image utilities, text processing, number formatters, cryptographic utilities, and developer reference tools.
The architecture uses Next.js with per-tool static generation, meaning each tool loads as a fast static page. Where tools require computation, we run everything client-side to avoid server costs and latency.
Within the first month, AZ Web Tools was receiving traffic from over 40 countries. The most-used tools in the first month were the JSON Formatter, UUID Generator, and Base64 Encoder.
The platform has grown continuously since — see subsequent changelog entries for updates.
